RETURN TO KANDAHAR
Paul Jay, Nelofer Pazira, Canada, 64 minutes

Nelofer Pazira, whose story inspired the feature film "KANDAHAR", returns to her native Afghanistan to find her lost friend Dyana. With co-director Paul Jay, Nelofer travels to Kabul, Kandahar and Mazar-e-Sharif, to find a country devastated by years of conflict and by America's 'war on terror' - and once again ruled by warlords and drug-barons. Nelofer's search takes her on an epic journey across a broken land. She visits the scene of her childhood, the graveyard of 'Al-Qaeda' fighters and finally the city, where Dyana and her family are reported to have sought refuge. She has returned home to a decimated Afghanistan, a violated land, where a thousand Dyanas are lost in rubble, dust and memory.
